Randle is a small, unincorporated community in the eastern reaches of Lewis County, Washington, in a wide, fertile flat known locally as the Big Bottom Valley. The Cowlitz River winds west through the valley here, draining the slopes of Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, and Mount St. Helens before joining the Columbia River. Randle sits at the edge of the Cascade Range, where forested foothills rise from the valley floor toward the volcanic high country. The community developed as a logging and timber town, and that industry still marks the local economy, with an active mill and a U.S. Forest Service ranger station and work center in the area. Randle also functions as an outfitting and supply point for recreation in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
