Doug assisted me (as a buyer's agent) with my first home purchase in 1994. Unlike other agents who I considered using at the time, Doug was not pushy, and indicated his willingness to work with me even when I wasn't sure at the time if I was ready to buy then, or wanting to wait a few months. Doug walked me through the process from Step 1 completely through the purchase, and was professional, easy to work with, patient with my many questions, and made sure the sale went through without any problems. When I was ready to sell that first house in 2003, Doug did a fantastic job of marketing the property and handling the sale. I had an offer and purchase and sale agreement after two days. Doug recently completed the sale of our second house, in September 2011. Around the time we started looking for a home we saw a property and used Zillow's visit the property feature. A bunch of agents contacted us, left multiple voicemails, put me on mailing lists, called from unknown numbers and left vague voicemails, none about the specific property. Andrew left one voicemail explaining that the property was pending but they we should give him a call if we'd like to see other homes. I called Andrew back and eventually my fiance and I visited him in his office near Northgate where he went over the home buying process, his credentials and answered every (exhausted) question we had. He was very patient, knowledgeable and honest. With our budget, we weren't getting a craftsman in Capitol Hill, but we could get something in Seattle that met our needs with out breaking the bank. Over the next few months we saw houses that were nice but far away, fixer-uppers, small houses, houses in a flight path, flipped houses with a premium price tag for a mediocre paint job, and others my fiance and I just didn't agree on. When he sent us a houses that we liked, he met or drove us to the property in a day or so. I was really surprised initially when he would show us all the flaws, which he saw right away with his history in construction management. One house had a really interesting plank wall, which he showed us was not insulated properly and would likely affect our energy bills. When a house had an undesirable characteristic, he was very honest about the probability of changing it and how much it would cost. We eventually found a house we really liked that was bid out of our price range. Andrew was able get a pulse on the bidding process, and we didn't even submit an offer. We were disheartened, but we didn't have to spend any money. We even backed out of an offer that got accepted after the inspection showed a multitude of problems. Andrew communicated that this was just part of the process and we moved on. Eventually we found another place we liked. Andrew arranged a pre-inspection and we submitted an offer. There were almost 10 other offers on the place, but Andrew put together a really solid offer letter and it was accepted. While researching the home buying process I found that sellers sometimes didn't accept an offer just because the offer wasn't put together well enough. Less than a month later and a document signing arthritic hand later, we had the keys. I really couldn't recommend Andrew enough!

Zach Is Unique in a Great Way!

Zach is unique in a great way. I've worked with 2 real estate agents in the past with mixed results. Zach in comparison was available to answer questions throughout the process and I never felt I was on the back-burner. End result, I got a better deal than what I expected b/c of him. I'm not a fan of agents that sound more like sales trying to convince you a house is nice. Instead, Zach would let me draw my own conclusions about a property and be upfront when he thought something may be 'off'. Doug is a fabulous real estate agent. We were initially very casually looking for a new home and had a time-frame of months to a year, as we wanted to find the right house at the right price. Doug took us to see dozens of homes but never pressured us to decide on location or time-frame. When we did find the house we wanted, he was a steady voice who guided us through the entire process, providing reasonable and sound advice on making an offer, guiding us through inspections, bringing a contractor to take a quick look at the house to determine how difficult any renovations or later additions might be, and providing calming reassurance during ridiculous interactions with lenders. We even ended up choosing a different lender at nearly the last minute and he didn't flinch. He also does his homework--he called the neighbors in the area we decided to buy to determine noise levels, looked up schools and gave us printed reports on the neighborhood, and generally went the extra mile. Working with Zach has been an absolute pleasure and I would highly recommend working with him. After interviewing 4 "top" agents in the area I chose to list my house with Doug Holman for 2 reasons - his non 'sales' approach and pragmatic approach to getting the house on the marketing and maximizing the sale. Doug is very responsive.

Doug was my buying agent on both of the homes I've purchased. The things I like about Doug include: 1. I never feel any pressure from him. It's objectively how I feel about the house + any input I ask from him and if we look at 10 that day and I don't love any of them, it's just back to the listings board with the same helpful/positive demeanor of the first 10. 2. He knows a lot about schools, better worse parts and other details of the north Seattle area which is where I've purchased my two homes. We also looked in South Seattle and other places though which I also felt like me provided good perspective on. 3. Doug is very responsive. I know I've personally felt bad about having Doug chaperone me around as I'm pretty picky. He let me know that even if it's just one house and even if I'm not 100%, that he'd always rather as see it as fast as possible and take as many trips out as necessary than try and wait to save time. 4. Overall Doug is just a nice a pleasant person to spend time with and talk to through the buying process. I know he represents both buyers and sellers and I'd recommend him for either.

Where do I begin with praise for our real estate professional Vicki Young! From the start, Vicki accepted our "detailed" input and began the hunt for the new house for which my spouse and I were shopping. He Was a Pleasure to Work With!

We bought a home with Zach's help in Lake Forest Park. I was a first time buyer to I quite tentative and was not sure of the process and with Zach's help we were able to close the house within a month from the time we saw the house for the first time. We started looking for houses in December and we looking at house with whom so ever will respond to our query on ZIllow or Refin, but we found Zach to be the most responsive and most easy to talk about our priorities and what we were looking. Zach was very responsive and always ready to help with any questions we had. On the negotiation part, we paid the full list price of the house and there were some concession after inspection but my feeling was that we could have negotiated it a bit lower but Zach convinced me that it is not a good idea to negotiate down as the seller has other offers. I thought Zach could have done better on that front being the buyer's agent. He was being fair on both sides I guess. I guess every buyer feels that they could have squeezed it some more, so no real complains there either Overall I was very happy with the process and would definitely recommend Zach to other buyers. He was a pleasure to work with in every step of the process.

Doug made buying our first home easy. Unlike other agents we worked with, he never pressured us from the start -- or ever.
